Creature care

Creatures can make lifelong friends, and following these simple guidelines
will make them happy companions for many years to come!

Protection

All of our Creatures need to be wiped down from time to time with a rubber protectant. We use Mequiar’s Rubber Protectant available at most stores that have an auto section (ex. Walmart, Target, K-Mart, auto stores, etc.). Armor All and Son Of A Gun work fine, but are not as optimal as Meguiar’s.

Giving your Creature a rub down with a rubber protectant will help protect your Creature from UV rays from sunlight,
too dry or humid air, and it acts as a barrier to dirt!

Always keep in mind when cleaning and protecting your Creature… while the rubber is durable and generally waterproof… the feathers on some Creatures are not. If your Creature has feathers, be careful when spraying cleaner or protectant. Also, backpacks with feather hair are best suited for non rainy days!!

Scrubbing vs Wiping

Never scrub your Creature!! Whether you are using a cloth, brush, or abrasive cleaners, scrubbing will cause damage. After a while the rubber will wear away, and the detail paint and airbrush paint may scrub off. Always gently wipe them down with a cloth.

Cleaning

Never use anything oil based on your Creature. Oil acts as a solvent and will eat away and degrade your Creature.

Never attach anything with or use tape on your Creature. The adhesive on tape will destroy your Creature in the same way oil does.

To clean your creature,  just use a mild soap or a mild cleaning spray like Windex.

Storing

If you ever need to pack your Creature in a box for shipping or storing, always give him enough room so that he remains in his original shape. Don’t pack heavy items on top of him as well. Over time it may distort the shape of the Creature permanently damaging his design.

Always keep in mind the atmosphere that a Creature is stored (or displayed). Too dry or too humid air is not optimal for ensuring the longevity of your Creature’s life! A wet dark basement, or a hot dry car dashboard are not the best options.

Creature’s like the same type of environment that people do! Not too hot or dry… not too cold or wet… but somewhere in between is just right!
